PrTMS

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a neuromodulating treatment that has been in use for many years. TMS is widely used to treat depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as many other conditions.

PrTMS (Personalized Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is next-generation TMS, and is showing great promise in many disorders, including autism, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, migraines, and concussions.

PrTMS is a safe and effective alternative to medications.  A coil is used to apply a magnetic pulse to the patient’s skull, which generates an electric current.  This current induces the synchronous firing of the patient’s neurons, leading to improvement in the patient’s symptoms.

The treatments are painless and there are essentially no side effects. Patients are able to go about their daily routines without interruption during the course of treatment.

Treatment consists of 4-5 sessions per week for 6 weeks.  Each treatment lasts approximately 35 minutes.

Electroencephalograms (EEGs) are performed before beginning treatment, and weekly throughout treatment to track progress and dictate treatment parameters.
